In the Dark we Whisper.

The notes ring in from 2002. I played some of them, she played some of them. Across nine years it is difficult to distinguish; those there, though: those are definitely mine.

Two songs about the heart, meeting somewhere shadowy, not quite singing the same song, but technically in key; the patterns mostly at odds when they are also in sync.

I have too many windows open. Each becomes a repository, an icon of thought. Closing them relieves tension. A suspended reality to return to.

There, now it's just two.

Can we make icons for the heart?
